The first thing I decided to work on for my Command Center mentioned in this post was the Calendar frame. I started with this.I got the certificate frame at the Dollar Tree (one of my favorite craft shopping haunts.) It was the 8 1/2" x 11" certificate frame.
I lightly sanded the frame and painted with navy blue paint. I have decided that the colors I am going to use for my Family Command Center are Navy Blue, Yellow and Sage Green.

Next step was to lay the backing of the frame on my fat quarter of fabric. (in this case Moda fabric in all the colors I was looking for.) I cut the fabric about 1 1/2" wider than my frame backing.

I folded
in each side starting with the shorter sides. I used regular tape to tape the fabric to the cardboard backing. They folding in the corners on the long side I taped this as well. (Think wrapping a present.)
I put this fabric backed wrapper back in my frame without the glass piece.

I printed the calendar in Publisher and sized it to 5 x 7 to fit on the frame. I love how it turned out and I especially love the price (about $2). Next up will be the Menu Chalkboard.
